The Challenge

Committed to creating a SMART company, Barloworld Logistics was about to launch a smart new online learning portal designed to upskill staff and empower employees. In preparation for the launch of the SMART Academy, they needed to inform their staff about the Academy, what it means for career development and (most importantly) how to enrol and start learning.

The Solution

  • In preparation for the launch of the SMART Academy, we created a series of emailers to introduce the Academy, why it is important and how to enroll.
  • To reinforce the importance of “knowing more” and “growing more” we created a series of e-card infographics that demonstrated how the Academy benefits employees.
  • As the launch of the Academy drew near, we set up “orientation” at the Barloworld Logistics head office where all new learners could collect their student Z-card and enroll.
  • To make the orientation fun, we served “brain food” and gave each new student a how-to guide to getting started student Z-card.
  • For employees who were on a fast-track development programme, we invited each student to a formal learning webinar with a SMART deskdrop.
